Why Reinvent Yourself

Why Reinvent Yourself

Jerry Clark

Recently, a Member of our Exclusive Online Gated Community here at Club Rhino asked me some very important questions:

(1)  What does it mean to reinvent yourself?

(2) Have you found that it's difficult for people to reinvent themselves and if so, Why?

These questions are very relevant to our advancement and overall success; thus, I wanted to make sure they got thoroughly answered here...

(1)  What does it mean to reinvent yourself?

From my perspective, reinvention is a process of what I call "Psychological Re-birthing"...  I say this because to Reinvent Yourself is like Dimming the Light on the Old (Predictability) and re-directing the Light to Shine on the New (Possibility)...

Nature provides many Examples of Reinvention:

A.  The Cocoon gives up the "Old" in order to give Birth to the "New" (Butterfly)...  Note that the Butterfly (which is Possibility waiting to be Expressed) can come to fruition only if the Cocoon is willing to Let Go and Fully Engage in the Process (and many times Stuggle) of Re-Birthing...

B.  The Changing of The Seasons is a Constant Reminder of how the Universe feels about Reinvention... It's obviously a natural process that's necessary in order to perpetuate ongoing existence...  Spring Reinvents itself into Summer, Summer Reinvents itself into Autumn, Autumn Reinvents itself into Winter, Winter Reinvents itself into Summer, and on and on and on...

C.  Nature also Demonstrates the Importance of Reinvention through the Life Process itself...  In the Sea of Infinite Potentiality there Exists Unlimited Possibility...  Some of this Possibility -- through A female's Egg and a Male's Sperm -- come together to Invent an Embryo...  This Embryo Reinvents itself into Fetus... This Fetus Reinvents itself into a Baby...  This Baby Reinvents itself into an Infant Child... This Infant Child Reinvents itself into a Teenager...  A Teenager Reinvents itself into an Adult...  This Adult Reinvents itself into a Parent...  This Parent may eventually become Reinvented into a Grand Parent...  This Grand Parent eventually becomes Reinvented into Pure Energy and is thrust back into the Infinite Sea of Potentiality...

D.  The Day Reinvents itself into the Night...

E.  Even the Legend of the Pheonix is a Tale of Reinvention...  Basically, upon Death, the Pheonix (a Mythical Bird) would build a pyre of spices, light it up, throw itself in there and then arise from the ashes as a new Pheonix ready for a new Adventure...

So what does all of this mean for us?

It basically means that Reinvention is a Natural Process, and it could do us Humans a lot of good to deliberately strive for occassional Reinvention...

This simply says that who we have been in the Past or who we are being in the Present does not have to dictate who we choose to be tomorrow...

Thus, if you've been Broke, Busted, and Disgusted -- You can Choose to Reinvent yourself to be Bountiful, Beautiful, and Dismantled from the Stuggles of the Past...

You can Transform... You can ReCreate... You can ReInvent...

You Can Go From:

  • Poverty to Prosperity
  • Fear to Faith
  • Frustration to Fascination
  • Obstacles to Opportunities
  • Survival to Significance
  • Chump to Champ
  • Whiner to Winner
  • Misery to Mastery
  • Grumpy to Grateful
  • Loser to Chooser
  • Zero to Hero

And much more...

Now to the Second Question that was Asked:

(2) Have you found that it's difficult for people to reinvent themselves and if so, Why?

Wow... This is a very good question...

The answer is Yes...  I have found the process of DELIBERATE REINVENTION rather difficult for most people...

Why?

Here's one of my reasons:

Certainty... Yep, people like Certainty...  When you're in the process of Reinventing yourself, you typically spend longer amounts of time than usual in a space of Uncertainty...  Uncertainty is difficult for most people to Navigate through... Thus, they typically try and stay with the "Old" --  even if the "Old" is not producing the results they truly desire...  At least it's "Comfortable" and "Known" and "Predictable"...  Sadly enough, most people feel at "Home" with what has already been for so many years...  They become "Addicted" to the Predictable... So much so that they will even have a tendency to "Fight" against something that's new (even when it's "better" for them)...

Think about it...  Even all of the new technological advancements were encountered with a great deal of Consumer Resistance...  This includes the Light Bulb, Automobile, Airplane, Tractor, Refrigerator, Telephone, Television, Fax Machine, Computers, E-Mail, Internet, and I'm sure you can think of much more...

Yep, including Network Marketing, and including you wanting to step out of the "Box" and become successful...

Ok, here's the next reason why I believe that Personal Reinvention is difficult for most people:

Learning has not become a Way of Being for them...  Yes, you read it correctly -- Learning simply is not a Way of Being for most people...  This definitely puts people at a disadvantage when it comes to the process of Personal Reinvention...

Let me Explain...

Reinvention Requires a Rudimentary Routine of Reading...

Not only Reading books and other materials, but also Listening to Tapes, Attending Training Courses, being Mentored by Coaches, etc...

Why?

Because -- for the most part -- Reinvention Requires Learning something New...

Ouch...

(There's that word again... New!)

That statement about learning has just put a damper in the Reinvention Process in at least 90% of our population...  That's right, well over 90% of our population is not used to learning... They have not developed this habit...  Mostly because in the "Past" it wasn't really necessary...  They could go to school, get an education, learn a skill, find a job, and work there the rest of your life...

As you know, things have now changed...  In fact, change has now changed...  However, people are living in this new world of "Warp Speed Change" while trying to maintain the "Old" Turtle Paced World...

People who haven't Learned how to Learn is at a serious disadvantage over those of us who have developed the habit of Learning...

If you have gotten to the point where Learning Is A Way Of Being for you, you have such an advantage over those who haven't gotten to this point that it will seem almost unfair...

Always Remember The Following:

Learning is the New Required Skill...

Constant Reinvention is the New Required Game...

The Question I Have For You Is...

Will you Deliberately Engage in the Process of Reinvention?

How you Answer this Question will Determine the Quality of the Rest of your Life...

Until Next Time,

Go, Go, Go (and Reinvent Yourself)
