An Interview with Jerry "DRhino" Clark... Part 3
11. What do distributors learn most from your seminars and your albums?
I get testimonials on a daily basis from people all over the world who tell me about the insights they get from the trainings and products we offer. Since I also have lots of young people and teenagers who listen to my material, I will answer the question from the adult perspective and the young person's perspective.
The adults tend to get the fact that the mechanics of the business is not the most important aspect of the business; instead, they realize that it's the mind behind the mechanics that is the critical factor. The mechanics are secondary. The mind that put the mechanics in action is primary. This gives them a better idea of how to allocate their training resources. They can learn all of the mechanics and techniques for building the business, but it will do them no good if they don't get themselves to consistently and persistently take the action necessary to get the results they seek.
The younger people seem to get the fact that they are more powerful than they initially realized. They come out with more self-confidence and a greater view of themselves. These will serve as key components for the way they continue to develop. In many cases, I have seen an increase in attitude, better grades, more empowered relationships with their family and peers, and on and on. They start getting more into personal development.
For example, I know a young man named Michael who started attending my seminars when he was 13 years old. Today, he's 17 years old, the President of his high school senior class, and he's traveling around conducting seminars to teenagers on personal development. In fact, during his high school graduation in 2001, they invited me to be the keynote speaker and send these young people out in what will be a new world for them. It's really great to see the impact you can make with a simple tape, video, book, or training program.
12. You come across as a very happy and positive person, which is real success and harder to achieve than making money for a lot of people. What's the secret?
I am happy and positive because I choose to be happy and positive. It just seems to work better for me than being sad and negative. Really, it may sound overly simplistic, but when you break it down, it all boils down to you choosing what you desire to experience.
Nevertheless, I will let you in on a little secret that makes this choice easier for me to choose. It's the philosophy that I have of life. Here it is: I believe that there was a lot of time that passed before I was physically born, and I believe that there will be a lot of time that passes after I'm physically gone. Based on this, I have determined that life is very short. So I figure if life is short, it must be a vacation. When you go on vacations, you typically make sure you're going to be positive, happy, and have a good time, don't you?
Well there you have my secret... I'm on "vacation" and I'm going to enjoy it. You may want to create a similar philosophy for yourself. Remember, it's our thinking, beliefs, and philosophies that determine our actions, and our actions determine our results. I had this philosophy when I was flat broke and I was still happy and positive.
13. What advice would you give to someone just starting out in network marketing?
#1) Make a decision to truly get started in building the lifestyle you and your family deserve. I'm not talking about a lukewarm "I'll try to" or "I hope to" or "I'll see what I can do" type of a decision. I'm talking about a "I will not be denied... This is my destiny... I was born to make this happen" type of a decision. You can feel the difference.
#2) Get plugged into the process. This means start doing the things necessary to make this business a success for you... things like using and sharing the products your company offers, sharing the opportunity, attending and promoting the various events offered by your company and support team (upline), engaging in self-improvement, and learning and using the system your company and support team provides you.
#3) Never quit. Just make a committed decision, stay in the process, and keep renewing yourself every year and eventually you will make it. Be willing to "fail" your way to the top!
14. What do you enjoy doing most of all and why?
I enjoy creating and contributing what I've created because I feel that's what I've come here to do. I enjoy creating ideas, tapes, videos, on-line material, interviews such as this one, books, trainings, etc. that will stimulate thought, action, and results so that people can live the lifestyle they deserve to live.
15. What does the future hold for Jerry Clark?
The future holds possibilities for Jerry Clark because I am the possibility of possibility. Expect more creation from me.
16. Is there anything else you would like to say that has not been asked?
Yes! To all the readers of this fantastic publication, I would like to say, "Be sure to keep charging, and always remember to GO, GO, GO!!!"
